The Jai Vilas Palace of Jawhar is a popular tourist destination in Maharashtra. The architectural style of this palace is neoclassical and it features in many Hindi and Marathi films.

But that’s not what makes it interesting. It is allegedly haunted! Thousands of people go to have a tete-a-tete with the ghost. I’m not sure whether they have been successful. I wasn’t.

But I was struck by the mood surrounding the palace. And my graphic novel sensibilities kicked in.
